Ashea graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy in 2010. Her career in rehabilitation began by working for the Fraser Valley Child Development Centre and Abilities Neurological Rehabilitation serving children, adolescents, and adults with neurological injury or delay, inclusive of individuals with mild to severe brain injury, developmental delay, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder and chromosomal abnormality.

In 2018, Ashea joined Turning Point Rehab where she provides a client-family centred collaborative occupational therapy approach to individuals with neurological impairments or complex care needs. Ashea has continued her education with training in anxiety interventions; concussion management through ImPACT; the Neuro-sequential Model in Education for trauma informed care; and life care planning through IRET; and Functional Capacity Evaluation through Matheson and JTech Medical.

As a Canadian Certified Life Care Planner (CCLCP) and Functional Capacity Evaluator/Certified Work Capacity Evaluator (CFCE/CWCE), Ashea develops cost of future care reports and conducts functional capacity evaluations for individuals with chronic health needs including diagnoses of Chronic Pain, Traumatic Brain Injury, Major Depressive Episode, and Somatic Symptom Disorder.  Her qualifications enable her to provide a CFC-FCE combination report as well.

She has been accepted as an expert witness in the areas of occupational therapy, functional capacity evaluation and cost of future care by the B.C. Supreme Court.
