Sandra graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1995 and with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy in 2001.

In her early career, Sandra lived and worked as an Occupational Therapist in Melbourne, Australia. She worked in the public and private sectors and gained experience working in rehabilitation centers, community based mental health agencies and government based programs with clients that had both physical and mental health conditions. She worked within a team environment and also often held the sole charge OT role.

Sandra has completed extensive post-graduate continuing education courses, workshops and conferences in the areas of brain injury/concussion, chronic pain, soft tissue injuries, orthopedic injuries, ergonomics, seating and positioning, pressure care, wheelchair seating, dysphagia, home modifications, environmental access, return–to-work planning, anxiety, depression, trauma and mental health and addictions. Sandra has completed training in Functional Capacity Evaluation through Matheson Education and Training Solutions and JTECH medical. She currently performs Functional Capacity Evaluations and Worksite/Ergonomic Evaluations. Sandra is experienced with Life Care Planning and is able to develop life care plans for individuals who have sustained injuries and have ongoing care needs. Her qualifications enable her to provide a CFC-FCE combination report as well.

Sandra has been accepted as an expert witness in the areas of Occupational Therapy, Functional Capacity Evaluation, And Cost of Future Care by the B.C. Supreme Court.

When not working as an Occupation Therapist, Sandra enjoys spending time outside hiking, trail running, cycling, paddleboarding and skiing with her family, dogs, and friends.
